About Neurospan

Research, education, and community for defeating neurodegeneration

Our Mission and Vision

Neurospan has a simple philosophy: consciousness is our greatest gift, losing it is our greatest tragedy and preserving it is our greatest goal.

Biologists have coined the term “Longevity Escape Velocity”, which means the moment in which advances in science add years to our life expectancy at a rate greater than 1 year per calendar year. This concept, and others, have caused a paradigm shift leading to aging being considered a preventable disease.

We aim to create a similar paradigm shift in neuroscience, where neurodegeneration should be considered a solvable problem. No one should have to suffer the insult of losing access to their consciousness. Everyone should have the potential for creativity, learning, higher-order thought and self-reliance for as long as we live.

From mission to platform

Neurospan is at the beginning of its journey. Right now it is building its language, framework, content, and community around one central conviction: neurodegeneration deserves far more ambition than society currently gives it.

Now

Build a credible public platform, clarify the mission, publish stronger content, and make the core mechanisms easier to understand.

Next

Develop a more serious research agenda, deepen the educational media, and attract collaborators who can improve scientific quality, production, and reach.

Later

Move from interpretation and community-building toward more formal outputs, partnerships, and eventually support for genuinely useful work.

Longer term

If Neurospan succeeds, it becomes a stronger node in the ecosystem around defeating neurodegeneration, not just commenting on the field but helping push it forward.
